WHAT IS WRONG WITH SOCIAL FASHION?

> USING THE VISUALISATION THEY ARE AGAINST
> EUROCENTRIC REPRESENTATION THROUGH MODELS
> EUROCENTRIC REPRESENTATION THROUGH SOURCES
> ONLY BUILDING A COLLECTION AROUND ONE SUBJECT, NO SUPPORTING PROGRESSIVE VALUES EMBEDDED IN THE PROCES, DESIGNCHOICES OR VISUALISATION
> TAKING INSPIRATION FROM AN OUTDATED, PATRIARCHAL SOURCE WHILE WORKING WITH SOCIAL CONCEPTS
> NO SUPPORTIVE CONTEXT WHERE THE CLOTHES ARE PLACED IN

do I want to represent vulnerability as feminine or do I want to represent it as human?
Do I need to link it to masculinity to be able to make it relevant?
Or will showing vulnerability as feminine only strengthen the stereotypical thought that vulnerability is a female trait?

How can I make space for men within vulnerability without the need of involving masculinity/patriarchy?

Vulnerability isn’t feminine for me. It’s a human trait and a human state of being that we all need to experience in order to grow as a person. So I’m not visualising it as feminine.
But how can I visualise something as human when we’ve placed literally everything in boxes of masculine and feminine?

If I would visualise my story, how would it look?
show hurt, damage, growth, connection and honesty.

vulnerability is:
not walking away for your emotions, accepting them and embracing them on the spot, in the environment that you’re in right at that moment.
opening up about your fears, failures, insecurities and traumas to people, so you’ll look at each other as more human.
embracing your insecurities, physical and mental.

Our society is based on a patriarchal system where human emotions and qualities are divided between "male" and "female". In this system the "male" is always valued above the "feminine". Emotions and traits that have nothing to do with gender, such as caring or assertiveness, are seen as "feminine" or "masculine". The male is powerful, the feminine is weak.

Vulnerability is seen as a feminine and therefore weak emotion, which we prefer to hide because we are ashamed, because we fear it.

Why do we fear vulnerability? What makes us fear rejection so much, making it impossible for us to open up to others, to embrace our purest self? Why are we so ashamed of our imperfections, insecurities and traumas?
As a society, we must ensure that vulnerability is seen as courageous and strong rather than weak. Vulnerability creates connection, processing and relief. It’s a human trait and a human state of being that we all need to experience to be able to grow as a person.

So, set a shift of value in motion, where we will let go of this patriarchal system that has oppressed and ruled for too long. Let us live without the narrow gender norms and see ourselves and each other as the complex, evolving human beings that we are.

Let us be vulnerable and finally, once again feel connected.
Let us be loved by ourself.
